Sustainability at UBM, INsecurity's Parent Company

Being an ethical, sustainable business is central to how we behave, how we make decisions and how we do business every day. Sustainability at UBM has five key elements: people, communities, environment, customers, and governance. Being an ethical, sustainable business is central to how we behave, how we make decisions, and how we do business every day.
At UBM Americas, our evolution of producing sustainable events is fueled by insight, innovation, and collaboration. We are proud of our commitment to having a positive environmental and social impact on both the communities and industries we work within.
What we are doing:
  • Collaborating with our venues and general service contractors to compile data on the waste our events produce and the electricity our events use. We're studying the data to determine how we can improve from year to year.
  • Auditing our events through our internal Sustainable 10 program.
  • Printing as much signage as possible on recyclable materials.
  • Ordering multiple-use carpet.
  • Using Energy Star rated projectors, monitors, and speakers, using LED lighting and encouraging the use of LED lighting for booths.
  • Partnering with charitable organizations, and instituting wellness initiatives at our events.

What We Are Doing at INsecurity

Here are just some of the things we're doing:

  • We choose partners who value sustainability, like Freeman and ETS AV
  • We use recycled paper for our signs and materials, and limit the amount of printed materials onsite.
  • We recycle our badges.
  • Our host hotel, the Sheraton Grand Chicago is Green Seal Certified. The Sheraton Grand Chicago supports its environmental commitment through a comprehensive single stream recycling program, energy consumption and efficiency programs, a linen/towel re-use program, water conservation, and other ‘green’ practices. Learn more about Green Seal here.
